"Out of Africa… & then what? Archaeological, biological & genetic perspectives on the more recent African past"
As the place where our species evolved and has lived the longest, Africa harbours the greatest human genetic diversity in the world. Yet we have only recently begun to appreciate how much this diversity has been impacted by events in the last several thousand years - including the spreads of herding and farming throughout the continent. Drawing on the latest archaeological, biological, and genetic evidence, Dr. Ebeth Sawchuk explores the past 50,000 years in Africa and the processes that shaped the world we live in today.
